No Regrets

Hi, I'm Ken Waletzki. I am an adequate amateur athlete, but I do workout a lot and therefore have the body of a Viking God; kind of like the Viking legend Thor. But perhaps leaning too much to the "Endgame" Thor than I'd like ;)

I spent too many years sitting in front of a computer screen working on technology. In 2001 I left a decent enough company that paid me adequately, but there's more to life than that magic that can be done with my brain and fingers. So, I decided to balance my life with technology development and outdoor recreation.  So, I worked part-time doing "low-tech" with plenty of month+ breaks in order to enjoy life.

In the years after leaving hardcore technology development I have traveled as far as Tasmania, ran the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim, biked the 200 miles of the STP in a day, mountain biked all of Bend Oregon's trails (repeatedly), built a house  with Zion National Park literally in my backyard, watched the sunrise over the jungle in Guatemala from a Myan pyramid, climbed the Roman siege ramp at Masada, kayaked in Alaska, viewed Rembrandt's "Night Watch" at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, free-climbed Half Dome in Yosemite,  completed more than 58 heliocentric orbits in space, and so much more.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
